“Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

I am your Father. You ______________________ are my child. I am the potter. You are the clay, the work of my hands.

My Creation,

I molded you exactly as you are. Your shape, your composition, your freckles and moles are all part of my plan. Love yourself, for I created you and have made you with a purpose. You are the only you. Be you! If you try to be someone else then the world will have an empty hole that no one else can fill except you. When I created you, I saw the challenges that you would someday face in your life. I planned for them in advance and have equipped you with everything that you will need to get through those hard times. Remember that you are not alone. I, your creator, walk step by step with you. I never leave your side. When you cry out to me, I am there. When you do not know the way, I guide you. When you are tired, I carry you. I did not delight in my creating you, only to leave you to flounder through life on your own. I know what you need. I know how you think. I know exactly what you need to run perfectly. You were made to be loved by me.

I Love you!

“You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings.” Psalms 8:5

I have made you ____________ a little lower than the angels.

My Creation,

I long to teach you how special you really are, to have you feel that importance even for just a moment. I want so bad to show you that that this sinful world was never meant to be your home. Instead, I made a beautiful world and Heaven for your playground. Everything had to be perfect for by beloved. I created the heavens, the angels, the Earth and then I designed you. You were my shining achievement. All of creation I spoke into existence, yet you were different, I molded you tenderly with my hands and crafted you with my thoughts. Each morning I smile at you, knowing how beautiful you are and how proud I am to know that you are mine. You are mine- chosen, accepted and priceless. Don’t ever let other people determine your worth. See yourself through my eyes each day and then you will truly know how special you are.

I love you,

I made you ____________. My breath gives you life.

My Creation,

I have made you and have given you life. I made you with needs, shortcomings, desires, worries, and insecurities so that you would not depend on yourself. I made you to need me. You are unique and made with a purpose. I want you to draw closer to me, into a deeper relationship, and yes a closer dependence on me. I want to be your everything. In the beginning I filled you with my breath. Today and everyday, I fill you in every aspect of your life. Call on me your need-filler anytime you need help. Feeling Left Out & Unloved

minionFeeling left out for a couple days. Just found out that a friend from Norway who visited my cousin and I two years ago came to visit my cousin and didn’t even tell me she was in the country.

Then I get to work yesterday and hear all my coworkers and my boss talking about going to a party together and laughing about all the good times they had. I wasnt invited.

My boss made a comment to me again how I needed to be more like the girl who was there before me.

One of my boys told me that he really didn’t care if I had gone on his eighth grade class trip, or not, only it was nice to have me buy things for him.

My other boy got into a fit this weekend swearing at me. My husband yelled at me last night.

My mother in law took my boys for the night. She adds last minute, oh I have no food in the house can you bring food? My youngest didn’t want to go. I guilted him into going. First thing when he said hi to his Grandma she reprimanded him for something silly he had done last time we were up there and told him he better not do it while he was there this time.  Feeling sorry for myself.

A Married Widow

waiting

I started up a conversation with her. She was pleasant to speak with and I immediately felt at ease. We introduced ourselves, throwing out the common formalities…where we lived, what we did for work, how many kids we each had and their ages. I added a few bits of information about my husband. She echoed me with her own biographic details, leaving out a description of any significant other.

Absentmindedly, I asked her if she was married. She replied that she once had been married, but that her late husband had left her a widow. Suddenly feeling sorry that I had asked the question, I metaphorically stuffed my foot in my mouth. I quickly offered her my condolences. She laughed, “Don’t feel sorry for me hon. It is better that way.” I nodded, honestly a bit confused.

“When did he die?” I asked.

“Oh,” she patted my hand comfortingly. “My dear, he’s not dead. He just isn’t in my life anymore. He is still very much alive.” Now I was superbly perplexed.

“But I thought you said that he was your late husband? Doesn’t late, mean that he is dead? If he is alive, wouldn’t you use the words, my ex-husband?” She laughed again.

“Honey, I even call him my late husband, to his face. He knows that when he left, that I closed that chapter of my life. He is no ex. He will always be my husband. I will always love him. We are just better apart. Because of this, there is no use for me to live in the past. We were married, he left, now I am a widow.” I marveled at her unique perception of her situation.

Seeing her again the other day, got me thinking about my own life. I too, am a widow. I just happen to still be married to my late husband. He is very much alive. I see him everyday. We are married, but unfortunately he is hardly ever there in spirit, even when he is bodily there in person. He wakes, goes to work and comes home invisible.

A single mother, I live perpetually on my own island, alone.

Being a married widow, I handle all the responsibilities of a household, motherhood, the workforce, chauffeuring, errands, homework, bills, etc…etc…but I also have to continually carry the sign that says, “I’m married and don’t need any help from others, because my husband will take care of me.”  Sigh, big fake SMILE.

Wouldn’t a lost sheep that was found by another be taken in and cared for? A branded one would be returned to its owner though, with no questions asked. What if the sheep had run for help?

So I climb the stairs each day to walk my widow’s walk. I wait and watch for my husband to come home. Maybe someday his ship will come sailing into the harbor. Until that day, I will grieve my loss, think well of my late husband and then move on. The daily tasks greet me each morning. Maybe it is better this way.
